Crossley Carpets CMC company began in 1947 in Durban, by 1963 they merged with Crossley carpets. In 1975 the 2 factories where purchased by CG Smith Group. In 1980 Barlow Rand brought out the company and listed it on the stock exchange as Romatex Group. In 1992, Ulter Carpet Mills Holdings purchased the Crossley section of Romatex. In 2004, Management brought out the company known as today as Crossley Carpets. Crossley is known for their top quality woolen carpets with a blend of Nylon & their custom design carpets. Thus making Crossley the high end of the Carpet industry.
